Capilano Rehab is a recognized sports injury clinic of choice for university and amateur football players.  For over a decade, we have been assessing and successfully treating a variety of football injuries, including but not limited to, dislocated shoulders, medial collateral strains and sprained ankles.  Here is one university player’s recent recovery story:

“My name is Adam Kuntz, and I am a CIS Football player for the Saint Francis Xavier University X-Men.  In my last season (2014) I sustained a serious injury to my ankle.  The ankle that I injured had never fully healed and with the next season around the corner there was a time restraint to get fully healthy. After suffering with reoccurring pain and limitations in my ankle movement, I finally got a recommendation to see Brent at Capilano Rehab Centre.

I have been attending Capilano Rehab Centre for only a few months now, and in my time there Brent Kassian and his staff have rehabilitated my injury in a remarkable time period.   After only a few treatments I could immediately see progress, and in two short months, my ankle has felt better than ever before.  An injury that I thought I was going to have to endure throughout the rest of my playing career is now not even a concern.  The staff at Capilano Rehab not only was professional in every way, but courteous: making my visits very positive.  They made my time there relaxing and the process of recovery stress free.  I got to know Brent and I can truly say his staff and him are game changers in their craft.  I wouldn’t be back playing the game I love at the University level if it wasn’t for Capilano Rehab Centre.”

Adam Kuntz (StFX X-Men, Middle Linebacker)

This coming Saturday, Adam and the StFX X-men will have home field advantage while they take on the UBC Thunderbirds in the Uteck Bowl.  The Uteck Bowl is one of two semi-final games held in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Men’s Football.  The Uteck Bowl Champion will go on to face the Mitchell Bowl Champion for the prestigious Vanier Cup.  We wish Adam and the X-men all the best!!

I am Capilano Rehab Centre’s Community Care Coordinator. I have been with Capilano Rehab for 9 years primarily as a Physio Assistant, but also as a Receptionist. I have a Physical Education Degree from the University of Alberta, which I will eventually use when my two young children are grown up. In the mean time I am enjoying helping people in the Community through my role as Community Care Coordinator and bringing awareness to how a Physiotherapist can help you get back to the activities you love the most!
